First Day of School

The boys went back to school today. It was a bittersweet moment for me. I sure love having the older boys around. But, they were starting to get really bored. Caleb started third grade and Carter started first. Brody and Brinkley did not know what to do with themselves with their best buddies gone.

July 25th Cabin Trip

Over the 24th of July, we decided to go up North. We stayed in a fun cabin. We went to a parade followed by a much needed trip to Dairy Queen. After that we went to a carnival, where the kids played games and had their faces painted. We finished the trip off with a fishing stop. We love our family!

Fourth of July at the Golf Course

Geez, was this years fourth of July hot!! I guess ALL fourth of July's here in the dessert are hot! This year we went to the golf course Daddy is a member of. Brett, Jenifer and Brayden came with us. We ate hamburgers, hot dogs and of course lots of watermelon. The kids played on water slides, rode a train and even got their faces painted. Our favorite part is always the fireworks show. Brayden did not like the fireworks, but the rest of us loved them. The kids were so wore out, they all went home and passed out. Happy Fourth of July America!

Girls Retreat!

I just adore my sisters(and my mom, too)! Growing up, my sisters and I were not very close. Our favorite family activity was to tease and fight with each other. But, boy have times changed. I don't know where I'd be with out these fabulous women in my life.

Andy had a free stay at the Phoenician, so we decided to have a girls retreat to celebrate our birthdays. We ate at El Charro's, lounged by the pool, and ate dinner at Ruth Christ. In the morning, we went to our favorite place, Last Chance. I never wanted the day to end. I can't wait to do it again next year!

Newport Beach 2011

If there was one trip the kids and I looked forward to the most, it would be going to Newport Beach with the Peterson's. And this year did not disappoint. The kids were so excited to see their cousins, especially since they moved way too far away from us. The kids ate up every moment they got to spend with their cousins. They slept in the same beds, frolicked on the beach, boogie boarded, had picnics on the beach, and swam in the ocean, even if it was freezing cold. The adults couldn't even get out of their sweaters, it was too cold for us. But, the kids didn't seem to mind it. We ate at a really good restaurants, my favorite was the Sunday mexican buffet. Brinkley even celebrated her third birthday on the beach. She had the most amazing Haagen Daaz cake in Papa George's honor that we all enjoyed. Boy did we love that girl!!

This year was so fun but very bitter sweet as well. It was going to be the last time we were all going to be together as George and Kathryn were going on a mission for three years. So we made every moment count!!

School Stuff

2011 was a great school year for the boys! Caleb had his end of the year party in Mrs. Norburg's  first grade class. They had a Candyland party and I took Brody and Brinkley in to join in on the fun.  Then, Carter had his Kindergarten graduation. He wasn't too happy about giving his teacher, Ms. Beazer a hug. He doesn't like girls very much, only his mom!(or so I tell myself).
